For NYU Langone Health, SRFA developed an arts policy that provided the framework for the arts to be integrated into the daily life of the Center. The art program was attuned to NYULMC’s healing mission and provided humanizing experiences that were sensitive to the diverse medical treatments underwent by patients. Artwork by contemporary artists was acquired to include larger works for the waiting areas of out-patient facilities and more intimately scaled works for patient rooms. All contribute to a more comfortable and soothing environment while responding to the diversity of needs, emotions and experiences of hospital patients on a 24-hour basis.
